Cole Porter Re-imagined–private

Cole Porter Re-imagined

Americana artist Janie Barnett has long nurtured the dream of ushering Cole Porter’s songs of lust and longing into a roots music and jazz hybrid setting. Guest singers and musicians on this Reimaging Cole Porter collection include the best from Nashville and NYC, from Jerry Douglas to Bill Frisell to Catherine Russell; Sierra Hull to Andy Snitzer to Larry Campbell. Mixed by premier New York engineer Michael Golub, mastered by veteran Al Silverman, and ready for placements
in all formats.

Barnett came up as a performing songwriter in the alternative roots settings of Virginia, New England, and finally NYC, where she also became one of the top singers in film and television recording sessions. She has brought her projects to performing arts centers, college theaters, and city wineries, as well as tv performances such as SNL and the Today Show.
