October Thoughts

Finally fall is upon us, although the hot sweltering day in the northeast still seems to impose itself, along with the extreme weather conditions around the country.  But it’s all a hoax by the Chinese, right?

I’m  excited to share with you that we will be playing our own show at City Winery NYC on Sunday December 3rd, a 12:30 – 2:00 brunch set.  I’ve called it our Urban Americana Holiday Show, in which we celebrate our shared musical humanity and…the fact that we’ve all survived this year.  We will have some very special guests with us, thus far including Vicki Kristina Barcelona (Terry Radigan, Rachelle Garniez, Amanda Homi), Julie Gold, Kenny White, and Gary Schreiner.  The Blue Room band mates will be there, including but not limited to Jeremy Beck, Richard Hammond, Larry Saltzman, Ira Siegel, Angela Reed, and Lisa Gutkin.  Other players to be named later!  I hope you’ll put the date in your books.  Tickets will go on sale shortly for $20 at wwwcitywinery.com.  I know this will be a raucous and fun-loving bunch!

OCTOBER has been a righteous month over at the Radigan Roundup in Park Slope.  If you’ve never been to the Roundup, the brainchild of Terry Radigan, you must go.  A Brooklyn hang like no other, at the 12th St Bar, at 8th Ave.  every second Sunday of the month.  Early this month Ms. Radigan celebrated her birthday there, in which we feted her with songs and cupcakes.  Later in the month we commemorated the songs of Tom Petty with all manner of love and respect for this great American storyteller.  I offered “Learning To Fly.” And I still am.

See you all soon I hope!  Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose. JB
